KNOW what's in your dog's food!

After researching, shopping, comparing and gaining a base-line understanding of canine nutritional balance, I have chosen a few "good" dry kibble brands to rotate, and COOK my own recipe of specific ingredients to add for topping on their kibbles. THE DOGS ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS, AND I KNOW EXACTLY WHAT THEY ARE GETTING! This may not look real appetizing, but it actually smells delicious while cooking. Here is the recipe:
1 1/2 cup OATS
1 cup CARROTS
1/4 cup FLAX SEED
1 cup GREEN BEANS
1 APPLE
1 1/2 cup PUMPKIN
1 cup MILK
2 cups WATER
1 cup BROWN RICE
2 cups BEEF LIVER
1 cup CHICKEN BREAST
2 Tbsp OLIVE OIL
2 EGGS
1 cup YOGURT
All can be chopped or minced, combined, then simmered at least 20 minutes. Remove from heat. Cool. Fills 5 Yogurt containers (650ml). I freeze them, take one out the night before using, and add about 1/3 cup per dog to their kibbles with each feeding, twice a day. It means you can cut down on kibbles by about 1/2 after established on this menu.  And the doggies all say HOWLELUJAH!

  2. Yes, I make it for my dogs all the time now, and have taken the best ingredients from several recipes to refine it and make it a bit easier. If there arent garden veggies available, I use canned product. They absolutely LOVE it.
